Juxtaposition

It's odd, sitting here in Maryland, with blue skies, chirping birds, and a calm sweet breeze, knowing that Hurricane Dennis is slamming the Florida Panhandle.

We have close friends who live in Panama City, and I'm worried about them. Mark, if you're reading this in a motel somewhere far inland (I hope), leave a comment. You're in our thoughts tonight, and I can't wait for you to move to Jersey where they have non-apocalyptic weather.

It's nice to know folks were thinking about us during the hurricane. We were fortunate it didn't come any further East than it did. We opted to stay, since were aren't in a flood-prone area, and the storm was going to pass far enough away we weren't in any major danger.

A resturant at the beach (the Treasure Ship, if you happened to have seen it while you were down here) caught a small waterspout. As far as Panama City proper, most of the damage seems to be water-related.

Yep, can't wait to get back to normal weather. I think hurricanes are God's way pf telling the developers to get the damn condos off His/Her beaches.

Thanks for checking in, Mark. Glad everything went okay. And yeah, I agree with your last point. Some places man was not meant to live...
