Bwah-hah-hah

Emphasis on the "Bwah," apparently.

I just took a 3-D humor test, which analyzed my sense of humor along three variables: light/dark, complex/spontaneous, and clean/vulgar.

Here are my results, which should surprise no one who knows me:
your humor style:
CLEAN | SPONTANEOUS | DARK
(65% Dark, 43% Spontaneous, 16% Vulgar)

Your humor's mostly innocent and off-the-cuff, but somehow there's something slightly menacing about you. Part of your humor is making people a little uncomfortable, even if the things you say aren't themselves confrontational. You probably have a very dry delivery, or are seriously over-the-top.

Your type is the most likely to appreciate a good insult and/or broken bone and/or very very fat person dancing.

PEOPLE LIKE YOU: David Letterman - John Belushi

Fat person dancing--hee-hee!

For my age and gender I scored in the 99th percentile for dark, which means my sense of humor is darker than 99% of other 36-year-old women.

They also place your sense of humor on a 3-D graph and label your cube. My label is "Cutting Edge." My neighbors include "Shock Jock" (Dark, Vulgar, and Spontaneous), "The Wit" (Dark, Clean, and Complex), and "The Ham" (Light, Clean, and Spontaneous).

The test itself is a lot of laughs. Try it.

10 Comments:

I'm clean complex dark...the oerfect combo for a joke writer, and the one the test giver likes best :)

Clean spontaneous light - which apparently puts me in the company of Will Ferrell(ok) and Will Smith(ugh!).

CLEAN | COMPLEX | DARK
Just like Ceclia.

In particular, I scored 99% on Dark.

I re-read the results and realized I am 73% dark, but higher than 99% of people. Conversely, almost everyone scored higher than me on Spontaneous.

My scores were:
73% dark, 17% spontaneous, 33% vulgar

I guess it's my love of slapstick that makes me spontaneous rather than complex.

Those percentages are confusing. For instance, it said that for my age and gender I was 0% more spontaneous. I don't know if that means I'm right on the spontaneous/complex border, or if among the spontaneous, I'm averagely spontaneous.

Averagely? Well, I'm cutting adverbs left and right from my manuscript. Guess they gotta end up somewhere.

Okay, I finally dragged myself over and took this humor quiz. I was totally terrified. What is I HAD no humor? What if I was only funny in my own mind? What if (OMG) the joke was on ME???

Anyhooo...

I plunged in, determined to find out more about my humor combo. And THIS is what it said:

THE IDIOT SAVANT
42% dark, 57% spontaneous, 42%vulgar.

How is it possible that there is NO light in there? I write LIGHT paranormal for pete's sake???

Your Humor Style:You like things silly, immediate, and, above all, outrageous. Ixne on the subtle word play, more testicles on fire, please. People like you are the most likely to RECEIVE internet forwards--and also the most likely to save them in a special folder entitled 'HOLY SHIT'. Because it's so easily appreciated, and often wacky and physical, your sense of humor never ceases to amuse your friends. Most realize that there's a sly intelligence and a knowing wink to your tastes. Your sense of humor could be called 'anti-pretentious'--but paradoxically enough, that indicates you're smarter than most. PEOPLE LIKE YOU: Johnny Knoxville - Jimmy Kimmel

I LOVE wordplay!! Really!!! No only that but I scored in the 99 percentile in all THREE areas!!!

Oh and I took it 3X changing my answers and it STILL came out the same!

Geez, I wanted to sit in the front of the room with Jeri and DAvid Letterman, instead, I get to be swished in the back throwing spitballs with Jimmy Kimmel.

12 years of Catholic school training down the drain.

Terri, meet Mark. Same results, same comments about how he loves subtle wordplay. I'm starting to wonder about this test...

And who's Johnny Knoxville? Do I even want to know?

I can't meet mark. Every time I click on the link, it tells me it won't display the page.

Sorry, I screwed up. Here's the link to Mark's results, a fellow Idiot Savant. I mean that in the nicest way, of course.
