Song for a sick laptop

Maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have
Maybe I didn't love you
Quite as often as I should have
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time...
--Willie Nelson, "You Were Always on my Mind"
Oh, Lappy. Get well soon. Bring home all my data intact, and I swear I'll establish a six-foot cracker-eating radius. I'll clean your screen once a week. I'll get rid of all those extra music files I'm not listening to. I'll plug you into a high-quality surge protector.

I'll buy you flowers. I'll think of a better name for you, like Natalie or Turbo or Steppenwolf. Anything. Just come home safe.

I love the way your mind works. BTW, I have to promise my PC no more China Cat Sunflower walking/drooling over the keyboard. What a mess.

How about:

There were times when I could
Have strangled her
(but you know, I would hate
Anything to happen to her)
Would you please
Let me see her!
Do you really think
She’ll pull through?
--"Girlfriend in a Coma"

After all, how many times would you have liked to toss your computer out the window....

I guess I should have modified it slightly to:

Laptop in a coma, I know, I know it's serious....

Waaaahhhh, that was one of the songs that was on my laptop. We saved the data (yay!) and reformatted the hard drive, which promptly failed again, this time for good.

Computers are great when they work, but when they don't regular headache pills don't help. Time to hit the extra strength migraine medication.:-)

Tell me about it, Kathy. I was already behind schedule before this happened. Now I'm panting to catch up. Oh well, it could've been so much worse. The only thing I actually lost (other than the money, which I don't have, to replace the hard drive) was my Firefox Bookmarks. I had dozens of research articles bookmarked, all gone. Crap.
