The real Rhia

A little gift for my male readers...

While Googling the title of my book (which is something I vow to stop doing once it's released), I came across the website of model Amie Decker, whose resume includes

Eyes of Crow Book Cover Due Out Late 2006

My husband says she's a dead ringer for Rhia. I have a hard time separating the face from the context of the wardrobe, makeup, etc., so I don't know*. But it's pretty cool to see what Rhia would look like in a bikini.

I wonder if Ms. Decker thinks the painting on the final cover looks like her.

What do you guys think? And by "guys," I mean everyone.

*Though I think the photo in the lower right hand corner of the head shot page looks just like Ciara, the heroine from my vampire novel. Same with the shot in the same position on the fashion page. Note to self: show these pictures to the lucky bastards who publish Bad Company.

OHMYGODDESS! The head-on half picture of her that's in the banner for fashion shots is the picture that's on Eye's cover. She looks more, shall I say, "wholesome" on the cover, which is Rhia, though that's not quite the word I want. Now you know where the nose comes from. And, yeah, I do see Ciara in the blonder pics. Maybe what I'm looking for is spiritually sexy to describe Rhia.

You mean the banner for the head shots. I see what you mean, but I still don't see a resemblance. To me the facial structure is all different. But hey, she's seriously hot (and I say that as a hopelessly heterosexual woman) and that's all that counts.

Yay!

In fact, I think she looks a hell of a lot like Rhia. You're right, practically everything is wrong, facial structure and all that, but yeah, if I were casting the movie, I'd be very happy with her as the lead. (Assuming she can act!) She looks, I think, as much like a painted character as a real person can. :)

I was jazzed to see that she's in The Black Dahlia, one of my most-anticipated films for this year. Except she's actually in Black Dahlia, a different film of the same name. So I'm not so much jazzed, but still happy to see her!

Wow, two movies with the same name in one year. That's quite a coincidence.

Hey, whatever happened to that other Alexander the Great movie? Wasn't Leo DiCaprio supposed to play him? Or did he get scared off by the Oliver Stone/Colin Farrell debacle?

It is so neat to read everyone's reaction to my image as Rhia. I am flattered to be able to help to bring this character to life!

Tha Black Dahlia movie will be really cool when its all finished. The one that I am in is very David Lynch esque and artistic, not a box office action flick. Some other stars include Julie Strain, Masuimi Max, and Kristen Kerr (who is in Lynch's upcoming movie Inland Empire).

I can't wait to read this book!
Best Wishes,
Amie Decker
