Vote for Meadow!

Election Day may be over, but there's one more vote to cast.

My dog Meadow is running for Cutest Greyhound in the Metropolitan Washington Area:

Based on the picture, you'd think her victory a lock, but she's up against some hardcore Washington insiders. Meadow won't kowtow to the special interests--she's a real dog of the people.

Voting continues through Wednesday, November 15. So cast your ballot today--it costs nothing but a minute of your time.

Together, we can build a better future for America and make a little girl's dream come true. And win me some sort of prize.

I've done my patriotic duty and voted for the next cutest greyhound in the DC area......MEADOW! Seriously, that picture is so cute, so Meadow. She looks befuddled and happy at the same time.

I voted for Meadow. Such a cute dog. But tell me, is the dog as much of an imp as the expression on its face suggests? And is Meadow a boy or girl? I think, based on the name a girl but you never know.

Yes, Kathy, she's an imp, though not nearly as much as she thinks she is. She's such a good dog that when she misbehaves she has this self-conscious look like, "I am a naughty girl, hee hee."

I got her to make that expression and head tilt by making kitten noises.

Oh she is very cute. I voted and it was so very hard to choose just one. :( But that face Meadow is making is priceless and it won me over lol

I voted--couldn't resist that look on her face! Greyhounds are such sweet pets. And I loved the photo of the greyhound with the Siamese. Cats will do anything for warmth *g*

"Eyes of Crow" arrived on the weekend. Once I get done with Nano, I'm going to dive straight into it!

Thanks for the votes, everyone! Meadow's out campaigning today, shaking hands and licking babies.

Gabrielle, good luck with NaNo! The 'net is so quiet these days, with all the writers dutifully working toward their 50K. It's getting lonely for those of us who just finished novels and want to party.

You should provide an "I Voted" JPG we can print out and wear proudly.

What's with the costumes in some of the pictures? That should be a separate category.

We can get Gracie to run to the window by saying "Kitties!" in an excited tone of voice.

I dunno, Dave. People like to dress up greyhounds. I guess they look cold. The breed that once raced proudly after game across the ancient Egyptian desert now can routinely be found wearing reindeer antlers and Bo Peep costumes.

I used to do that with my dog Daisy, but it was "Squirrel!" that would get her all excited.

Meadow has a limited vocabulary:

Meadow
Outside
Come
Mr. Fleece (2nd favorite toy)

Seriously, she doesn't even know the word "biscuit," even though it's used in conjunction all the time with the real thing.

Meadow is a beauty.

Summer knows "go to bed", "biscuit" and "hop" (it used to be "walk" until it became a hop.) Oh, and she knows "come" but she doesn't like it, so she pretends not to understand quite frequently.
