WVMP Lives! (and a BTTB ARC giveaway)

I'm thrilled to announce that Pocket Books has bought another two installments in my WVMP Radio urban fantasy series, bringing the total to four! Yaayyyy!

I'm so happy, I wish I could animate this image so that it would look like the guitar was rockin' out in joy. But it would hurt my web designer/husband's sensibilities, so instead, I suggest you pick up your monitor (or your laptop) and shake it around while going "Nuh. nuh. NUHhh...nuh. nuh. NUH-nuhhh...Nuh. nuh. NUHhh...NUH-nuhhh." (That's Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water," in case you didn't recognize it.)

There now. Didn't that make your Monday morning oh-so-special?

Anyway, I don't have official release dates yet for Books 3 and 4, but Book 2, Bad to the Bone, will be out May 19, and now you can pre-order it secure in the knowledge that it won't be the end of the road.

To celebrate, I'm giving away five (5) ARCs of Bad to the Bone this week instead of just one. All you have to do is comment on this post. Extra points* for comments that involve other famous guitar riffs.

I'll randomly draw five names Sunday night at 11:59pm Eastern standard time (oh, who am I kidding, it'll probably be Monday morning) from the combined comments from my jerismithready.com blog, MySpace, and LiveJournal, and announce the winners next week. At which point, I'll go back to giving away one ARC per week until the end of March.

Also, I'll have one ARC giveaway exclusive to my Twitter followers, so if you'd like to join up ahead of time, come follow me...yes...into the light, my pretties....

P.S.: You have one more day to enter the other BTTB ARC giveaway over at Dante's blog. Just comment on his interview with Ciara by 11:59pm Pacific standard time tonight.

I always loved that long solo in 'November Rain'. Naturally, I identify most with Shane. It's funny that way. By having those different generations, you reach out to everyone. I'm stoked you sold those books, everyone benefits!!!

I'll be reading you long-term Jeri.

Ah, that's awesome! Congrats! And it's great news for the rest of us too :) You've got such vibrant, rich characters; I'm glad that the powers that be can see that there are more stories to be mined and told! I'll be looking forward to them...

Dun. Dun-dun. Dun-dun. Dow-dow-dow. (This is *supposed* be to be AC/DC's "Back in Black." Glad to know you'll be back!!)

Super Rockin' Congrats!!
This must be the week of music related awesomeness. I just finished re-watching Blues Brothers 2000. A few of your vamps would fit right in with that cast. :)

Congrats! And woohoo for me because that means I have more rocking books to read. Does a lil dance. Ok for the guitar riff. dun de dun, chickachicka , dun de dun chickachicka.

Oohhh....a famous guitar riff...I really don't have any, but I love listening to anything done by Jonny Lang. Plus add his voice, yum.

Yay for more WVMP books! And, uh, da da da duh,da-da-da-da, da da da duh, da-da-da-da.
That's from David's Bowie's "Man Who Sold the World."

Posted by: Blogger Kimberly B. at 3/02/2009 11:48 PM

Great news, Jeri!

Favorite riffs - Led Z - Whole Lotta Love and Stairwa to Heaven; Clapton's Layla (Derek and Dominoes) and Sunshine of Your Love with Cream; Black Sabbath's N.I.B.; Don't Fear the Reaper, Blue Oyster Cult.

Posted by: Blogger Pam P at 3/03/2009 3:50 AM

Gimme gimme gimmme. I had love for Ciara's first set of adventures.

OK, that's out of my system. Now I can bang my head to the riff from Bohemian Rhapsody, Wayne's World style.

Posted by: Anonymous Anonymous at 3/03/2009 10:34 AM

I am so excited for this to release and congrats on the great news!!

A favorite of mine is the guitar solo in Seize the Day by Avenged Sevenfold!

Posted by: Blogger Lori T at 3/04/2009 6:49 AM

Yay, yay, yay! Awesome! Congratulations, Jeri!

Best,
Sarah

You know me. I will read anything you publish. Oh, and The Awakening...well, I must say I wouldn't have ended it any better. It was awesome. Cannot wait for BTTB!!! And my daughter and I can't wait for your YA series.

Posted by: Blogger Chesh at 3/06/2009 8:13 PM

Congratulations! Oh yeah, and I'd love to win an ARC!

nuh, nuh, nuuhh, nuh.

I totally enjoyed reading all the "du-du-dun" comments. xD

Congrats to the following five folks (yay alliteration) who won Advance Review Copies of Bad to the Bone:

Chelle
DavidH
Nozomi
Kayley
Barbara from MySpace

I've e-mailed everyone on this list except DavidH, whose Blogger profile had no e-mail, so hey, DavidH! If you're out there reading this, please e-mail your mailing address to me at jeri AT jerismithready DOT com, so I can send you your ARC. If I don't hear from you (or any of the other four whom I e-mailed) by a week from now, I'll draw replacement names from the same pool of entrants.

Come back tomorrow for the next ARC giveaway. And thanks to everyone for their good wishes and awesome guitar riffs. You made me smile. A lot.
