I think vampires are better than werewolves because of there immortal abilities (I mean u can learn, read and do.... ALOT during this time)

I think werewolves are better than vampires because of their body heat, what can I say, I prefer to be warm lol

Vampires are better than wolves for those with severe dog allergies. You don't want want to have snuggle induced asthma every time you get romantic.
AND
Werewolves are better than Vamps when you have a fear of needles... or any sharp thing.

I'm torn between the two: vampires for their immortality and werewolves for their elevated body temps. I'd take one of each please and thank you as I think all as they are protrayed are total hotness! LOL I've read the first two WVMP books and love them can't wait for the end of July to get here for the 3rd and of course, Eclipse is coming and I've had my tickets for two weeks now! Can't wait!

Vamps vs Werewolves--- Vamps don't have to worry about waiting for the moon to change, and they don't have to worry about changing involuntarily. Some have awesome taste in music too. :)

Werewolves vs Vamps -- Wolves get lots of muscle and brawn. Not too mention they can make a great pillow to fall asleep under the stars with.

Great contest Jeri! I've been dying to read the WVMP series AND 13 to Life.

Okay. Vampires are better than werewolves because because they're older (usually). This means they have more experience (in many different areas) *wink wink* If that's not a winning argument, I don't know what is.

And... Werewolves are better than vampires because one: they can go out during the day, two: they're not freakishly pale, three: you don't have to worry about avoiding Italian food (garlic specifically), crosses, mirrors, churches, etc., and four: they can get a little wild (and, yes, that is a plus).

Vampires are better than werewolves because they are immortal and sparkly, atleast in Twilight. They also don't smell like wet dog.

Werewolves are better than vampires because they can pass for human. Also they sleep, which is my favorite thing to do.

Well, I think vampires are better because they are immortal, have amazing looking skin, and some of them sparkle!

And werewolves are better than vampires because they make great space heaters, run around half naked showing off amazing abs, and love you even if you are a future vampire.

Vampires are better than werewolves because they are not as hot headed as their wolfy brethren. Like their skin they are cool and collected. Whereas the pups tend to have a short fuse and a heavy temper.

Wolves are better than vamps because they are great to cuddle with. Who wants to canoodle with marble? Soft and furry and warm is much nicer.

Vampires are better than werewolves because of their ability to live for centuries - they have plenty of time to amass a fortune, live history, and learn to be civilized.
Werewoles are better than vampires because they only have to worry about their "curse" during the full moon, the rest of the time they have control over themselves, but still have their strength and speed.

vampires are better than werewolves because they tend to have hotter male figures. they have a bit more stealth and aren't as messy when killing. they also can run awesome radio shows :)

werewolves are better than vamps because they have a bit more anonymity when they kill. werewolves are also better than vampires because they have nice fur coats that vampires can turn into rugs or jackets when they're done with them. (hehehe).

Vampires FTW because I think that there is an overall sexiness about vampires that makes them so attractive to everyone. And of course no one complains about the living forever part.

Werewolves FTW because it seems like they would be much more fun to be around and hang out with.

I really wouldn't want to choice, I would want the best of both worlds. :)

I'm loving these answers and just had to jump in to play! No, I'm not entering the contest, merely trying this strange concept of balance Jeri suggests (says the Libra author of 13 to Life).

Hands everyone a grain of salt for starters.

Here we go...

Garrr. Vampires are better than werewolves because they have the advantage of tremendously long lives during which they could be doing amazingly good things for the world. Or building awesome stock portfolios (which explains why they often are featured as quite fabulously wealthy and stylishly dressed--hey, when you're outliving everyone you love and becoming more callous by the day you have to do something with your time, right?). Ack! Sorry. Balance. Come on, Shannon. Not all vampires suck... Huh. Anyhow... Some vampires have amazing taste in music, substantial amounts of hotness (for being traditionally dead cold ;-) and can move beyond typical literary expectations to be part of an awesome world constructed by an amazing author . I *definitely* love Jeri's vamps, but I'm very particular (not that you could tell ;-).

Ahem. Werewolves are better than vampires because they exhibit little pleasantries like heartbeats and body heat and plush fur coats (that in some worlds--cough--smell like crisp pine forests rather than wet dog ;-). Werewolves also have the benefit of a certain anonymity and the ability to get a tan (or meet your parents at a neighborhood barbeque)without bursting into flames (though they may ask that their meat barely touch the grill...). And dare I mention "puppy dog eyes" and loyalty? ;-) Frankly, I wasn't a fan of werewolves until I started discovering Pietr and the Rusakovas. Reading Shiver and several other new werewolf offerings have also helped justify my recently discovered fondness for the critters. ;-)

2. Wolves are man's best friend right? I think thats how the saying goes...anyways, wolves get to enjoy the day anytime they want while vamps have to hide away in the shadows.

Let's see... Vampires have the immortal thing going for them. I think that if we are honest, we would say that it would be amazing to live forever and see all the changes that go on. At the same time that could be very depressing. Vampires also have the whole attraction thing going for them. No matter who it is, what their stature in the world is, or where they are... they see a vampire and it is like BAM... gotta get near that! Haha!!

AND

I am going to take this as TRUE werewolves (not the kind that are out there in some books now... sorry). Werewolves are fierce. They have that ability to scare the s*** out of you right before they rip you to shreds, and COME ON... who hasn't wanted to do that to at least one person in their life?!

Vampires are better because they won't suddenly die on you, and you don't have to avoid touching them during the summer. (SoCal sucks!)

Werewolves, on the other hand, are better because they can grow old with you, they're more social, and they're known for their loyalty.

Vampires are better because they can stay up later than your kids and thus it will not take all that long to work through the second season of True Blood on DVD (can't watch that with the kids up).

Werewolves are better because the wolfy part of them will make them very protective, because it's all about the pack (at least according to Nighteyes in the Robin Hobb book).

Vampires are better than werewolves because they are immortal so they are very wise beings having lived so long. When vampires kill, it's a clean kill, not messy like a werewolf. Vampires are more civilized than werewolves and their living arrangements are so much more comfortable than werewolves who live outside.

Werewolves are better than vampires because they can appreciate the luxuries of Heaven once their life is finished, unlike vampires who are damned to living their eternal lives in a sometimes not so pleasant world. Werewolves are better because they are known as protectors in the indian culture and can be a good luck charm. And werewolves are warm and soft to the touch. And I can't forget to mention that werewolves have an unmatched sexy howl at night.

Vampires are better than Werewolves because they aren't near as messy, drinking your meal vs. mutilating your meal. Sound sleepers vs heavy shedders.
Werewolves are better than Vampires because deadliest when there's a full moon vs every night.
Keep you warm on cold winters nights vs cold as death all of the time.
