St Stephen's Day giveaway for Kaylee & Tessa

Happy December 26! Known in Great Britain and Canada as Boxing Day and in America as I Do Not Want This Gift Day, today is St. Stephen's Day (or just Stephen's Day) in Ireland.

If you're like me, you mainly associate the day with the fabulous Elvis Costello song, "The St. Stephen's Day Murders," off of my favorite ever Christmas album, the Chieftains' Bells of Dublin.

Today is also the day that the fabulous Kaylee Cavanaugh (one of my favorite characters of Irish heritage), whose army of supporters overcame "AuraFTW" a couple weeks ago in the Heroine Tournament, is now the underdog--in a matchup against Tessa from Cassandra Clare's Infernal Devices series.

Tying it all together (in an admittedly not very coherent fashion--I've been up since 6am and am in a serious post-Christmas dinner food/wine coma), I'd like to give away a copy of your choice of TWO INSTALLMENTS of my good friend Rachel Vincent's Soul Screamers series, PLUS a CD of The Bells of Dublin.

EDITED TO ADD: I will also give away a copy of Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare--and, Kaylee's advocate Fiktshun is also offering me a SIGNED COPY OF CLOCKWORK PRINCE (I KNOW, RIGHT??) and a keyring to give to you! So...wow...that's four books, a keyring, and the best Christmas CD ever--to ONE WINNER.

Beginning at 12:01am Eastern, go vote for Kaylee (or Tessa if you prefer--I just got Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince for Christmas, so I'll be meeting her soon, yay!), then come back here and tell me your favorite thing about December 26. The leftovers? The spending of gift cards? Having the day off (if you are so lucky, which I am not, but then again I do have the best job in the world, which this week involves writing about vampires and possibly an Angel marathon for extra inspiration)?

Deadline: 12:01am Eastern, December 27. US addresses only--sorry, after Christmas, the bank account, she is empty. EDITED: NO! Now that this giveaway has grown three times as awesome, I will open it up to international folks. Heck, St. Stephen's Day only comes once a year.

Whatever you call December 26--Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, Stephen's Day, or just Chillin' With New Books Day--hope you enjoy it! And hope I can string together two sentences then with proper syntax 'n' everything!

My favorite thing about the 26th is everyone is busy with their haul and leave me alone for some quality me time. :) I'm not getting out in that mad house of after Christmas shoppers! Gift cards will keep and there will be sales a plenty soon enough.
Thank you for having this giveaway!!!

I love a few things about Boxing Day.

1. MAC puts out great collections on this day and I am a makeup junkie.

2. I have the sweetest the NICEST family living next door to me. The mom is a wonderful woman, and her kids reflect that awesomeness. They are the two nicest, politest children. On this day they are always outside playing with their new toys and I am delighted to hear them having fun and enjoying their new things.

Happy holidays!

Hi! How are ya doing? I personally am still hyped up from all the sugar that I ate from that rather large piece of cake at dessert. But, all is well. If I'm not bouncing off the walls and disturbing the neighbors, I'm in the good.

December 26, also known as Boxing Day, is one of my favorite times of the year. I get to sleep in without the phone ringing cause all the telemarketers aren't working, and I don't have to worry that a fat guy is going to  come inside my house and spill cookie crumbs all over my floor while I'm not there to reprimand him.

Although I could keep listing these minor details about how I need more room in my sock drawer for all those socks that I got (again) for Christmas. I have to mention those big things that really make December 26 the day after Christmas.

Shopping! I know, I'm shallow, but that's the first thing I would do. I'm not one of those crazy cat ladies that line up at 3am to be the first in line for the cat food. I'm thinking about hitting the malls early, getting all those good sales and all those things. The best part would be not spending a dime! For me, I got a handful of gift-cards for a variety of stores cause "I'm impossible to shop for." And for those ladies out there, you don't have to listen to a word people say about hitting the gym first thing in the morning. Nah uh. My motto is to shop it off. You're running from store to store trying to get to those deals!

One of the best things about Boxing Day is that it is at the end of the year. The new year is fast approaching and you always think that you can make yourself a better person blah blah blah. I always keep this in mind when I buy myself a new sweater or new shoes so I won't feel that bad about myself. Thinking that I can have a fresh start in the new year and not be so greedy is the number one thing that keeps me going.

Finally, the last thing to top off my list, would be family. My family might only have two known volumes, loud and louder, but we're there for each other during the holiday season. Being together and celebrating is the best gift that anyone can give me because I know in the very end that we're there for each other. Even though we might argue and point fingers at each other, we still have each others back during the hardest times.

Ms. Jeri Smith-Ready-Thank you so much for holding this giveaway. You're an amazing author! I hope you had a great Christmas and a wonderful Boxing day!

My usual favorite thing about December 26 is the quiet time after the hubbub of Christmas Day. I've never been one to shop or return things this day; usually you'd find me curled up with a new book (or two or three!), just enjoying the peace and quiet. But this year? This year I get to (have to!) work, so there will be precious little 'me' time. *sob* I envy you, Jeri, with your job you love - mine is simply a job that pays the bills. :(

Favouirte Thing about 26th is a day off! Perfect time to use presents such as gift cards and also another chance to stay with family since we rarely get together except in special occassions like Christmas.

Thank you for this giveaway! I hope you've had a wonderful year! :D

My favorite things about December 26 are the leftovers and reading any new books or watching new DVDs that I've received as gifts.

Hi Jeri! Voted for Kaylee :D

My favorite thing about December 26 is the fact that it's my birthday! Ha, it's the best day of the year for me. I just turned 20 (yeah, I'm sooo old, I know *wink*).

On this day I can just relax and read as much as I like without anyone bothering me although my family can be a bit suffocating on this particular day *grins*.

Well anyways, I wish you and your loved ones happy holidays and fabulous new year!

What I love most about December 26th is the open road first thing in the morning. Being able to floor it with no one out there, windows open, ahhhh. A little slice of bliss :)

Posted by: Blogger D.F. Matthews at 12/26/2011 8:48 AM

In Australia we call it boxing Day too. What I love most is definitely the leftovers. My mum makes the best potato salad in the world!! Being able to relax together as a family, and not have to worry about doing anything but eat, play with your new toys and enjoy watching the kids play with theirs!! :)

Posted by: Blogger thelastunicorn at 12/26/2011 8:53 AM

I love leftovers, rest if I have the day off, and enjoying all the new stuff I got for Christmas :o)

Posted by: Blogger Mickey at 12/26/2011 8:54 AM

I love the 26th because of leftovers, the kids playing with their new toys, and not having to cook :)- while the kids play with their new stuff - mommy gets a few brief moments of peace - that is until they bug each other then its back to refereeing :)

Posted by: Blogger Kristina at 12/26/2011 9:01 AM

I love December 26th because it is the perfect day to just relax after all of the holiday hoopla and just settle in with the family to enjoy a day of doing absolutely nothing. We sit around and watch old christmas cartoons and the kids love to check out their new toys. It is a remarkably quiet day considering all the new shiny things they can play with.
I just love having that extra day to rest and do nothing before heading back to work!

What I like about December 26 is that there are no expectations. My kids and I can hang out at home, play with our new "toys" and just be.

My favorite thing about December 26th is spending the day with all of the new books. It has become a tradition that every year my grandma orders me a bunch of books that I've been wanting, and it's a bit overwhelming to receive all of the awesome at once. It can take the whole day just to decide what to read first ;-). Happy Stephen's Day!

It's Dec. 26th! The first of 7 whole days of vacation. Also, the day before my baby sisters 21st birthday! Which means, we start celebrating today! Drinks anyone? Yay for Dec. 26th. Also, I'm going to spend my B and N giftcard.

It's Boxing Day here!! This is the day I spend my Christmas money -_- I probably should be saving it but all the sales are so hard to resist!! It's hectic but that's what online shopping is for!! Mostly I just like to relax and hang out with family on our day off...

I woudl have to say the best thing about this day is all the deals. I mean, dude, I found the seventh season of House MD on DVD for only $15.00. It's the season that just came out in Sep! Now THAT'S awesome. <3 Although leftovers are good too...

My favorite thing about today is spending the day with my little boy and hubby and play with all the new toys. My son is so excited and wants to play with everything at the same time. ;)

Merry Christmas and thank you for this amazing giveway!!!

GO KAYLEE!!!

My very favorite thing about the 26th is having the day to play with all the new toys I've gotten for Christmas. And of course I enjoy putting all my gift cards to good use finding new books for my nook or my bookshelf! I also enjoy playing different wii games and things with my sister who I only see about twice a year. :) If there is any homemade fudge or cookies left I am also more than likely pigging out on that!
Thanks for the exciting giveaway!!!

My favorite thing about December 26th is curling up with my girls and having a lazy day. No cooking due to leftovers, no work, just laying around watching new movies they got from Santa! They also get to play with all their piles of new toys! Thank you for having this wonderful giveaway, now if we can just get Kaylee the votes she needs!

Hi Jeri~ Voted for Kaylee!

First, thanks so much for this give away! It's fabulous to see you getting behind Kaylee! I got ALL the Soul Screamers books for Christmas, so I'll be starting those today! Yay!

My favorite thing about the 26th is that my family can take it easy. There seems to be so much hustle and bustle on Christmas day visiting family and friends. We call today our "pajama day", when we all play games as a family and we also get a little time to our selves (aka, for me, reading time).

You could not pay me to hit a mall today! Boo!

Hope your holiday was filled with joy and laughter!

Cheers~ Adrena

P.S. The Ham wheel sounds frightening!

Merry Christmas, Happy Boxing Day, and Happy Kwanzaa :)

My Favorite thing about Dec 26th is the leftovers (if there are any) getting to hit the stores with the after Christmas sales.

Posted by: Blogger Danielle D at 12/26/2011 12:16 PM

I love the 26th for the cheap Christmas stuff, the leftovers of dinner, and using up my gift card. The glow of Christmas still lingers for me, even whilst struggling through the crowds for that utterly essential .25 cent wrapping paper!

Posted by: Blogger anme at 12/26/2011 1:05 PM

My favourite thing about Stephen's Day is finding good movies to watch on tv. Even if you've seen them before they're always better at Christmas!
Movies, and then curling up with a new book, one of which is Clockwork Prince this year!

Posted by: Blogger lmcgrillen at 12/26/2011 1:09 PM

I love to hang out with my husband without having to take care of family stuff. Usually we go see a matinee movie and then come home and play video games :)

Posted by: Blogger Galena at 12/26/2011 2:18 PM

My favorite thing about the 26th is cleaning... time to deep clean the house, pack up all the wrap and packaging, and the general holiday clutter. I've always seen the 26th as a turning point - time to begin preparing myself for the new year and new beginnings.

Posted by: Blogger Kelly at 12/26/2011 3:58 PM

WOW- This is amazing! Thank you so much for the chance to win these books, Jeri! :D

My favorite thing about Dec 26? I just get to hang at home, basically just relaxing. :) But this year, I love this day because I'm going abroad!

Totally voted for Kaylee. She deserves to win.

Posted by: Blogger Jen R. at 12/26/2011 5:40 PM

My favorite thing this Dec 26 was getting to sleep in. I didn't have a day off until today since Nov. It was deserved!

Voted for Kaylee :)

Boxing day sales in Canada (shopping!!!), leftovers so I don't have to cook. :DDD

Posted by: Blogger gracelo at 12/26/2011 9:56 PM

My favorite thing about boxing day is being able to not having to worry about having the house clean or getting up early or even making a good quality supper. I can just relax, watch movies, read my new books and eat food that just has be shoved into the microwave. Let's not forget the ability to pig out on Christmas baking without being scolded at.
This sounds more like my favorite day of the year. Lol! :)

Posted by: Blogger Caleigh at 12/27/2011 2:12 AM

My favorite thing is having the day off to rest from all the holiday activities. But the leftovers are pretty good, too. :0)

Posted by: Blogger Dawn M. at 12/27/2011 4:46 AM

My favorite thing is without a doubt the leftover cake :P
Also all the awesome decorations look way cooler in the morning (yes I'm weird :P)
