So, here's the deal. I got zero sleep last night, because my dog Meadow is having severe back pain again. If you want details, you can read this post from 2009 and just substitute "June 2012" for "October 2008." Hopefully this episode will have the same happy ending as the last. (She's having an MRI done next Tuesday, so we should know then if she is eligible for surgery to fix what's wrong with her. Fingers crossed!)
This means I won't be as involved moment-to-moment in the YA Sisterhood's Crush Tourney Voting Day as much as I usually am. I'll do as much as I can--maybe we'll get lucky and Meadow's new "Meadow-cines" will give both of us some peace. I'd love to pop in and share some "Shattered" snippets or post some music videos to add to the fun.
But for the most part, in this round I'm leaving the festivities up to Zachary's fabulous advocates, Fictitious Delicious!
Jen and Amy from FD are hosting a #TeamKilt Twitter party tonight at 11pm eastern time to rally votes, play games, and gosh only knows what else those crazy girls have cooked up. They never tell me anything. Almost.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS ARE FOUND IN THIS SECTION OF THE POST, so be sure to check back throughout the day Friday!
Be sure to check out the Team Kilt Pinterest site, put together and maintained by our fabulous Princess of Pins, Saleana of Step Into Fiction! If you want your avi, video, blog post, etc. added to the Pinterest, simply tweet a link along with the #TeamKilt hashtag. Or if you're on Facebook, simply tag me or post a link on my wall and I'll forward it to Saleana.
With such fabulous team members, all I really need to do is hold giveaways and offer incentives if Zachary wins!
1. Zach's upcoming novella, "Shattered," will be issued in ebook only, but I promised if he made it into the tournament, I'd make up some limited-edition print copies with photographs, like this one:
That's the Oran Mor auditorium, where the climactic action sequence in Shine takes place.
So when Zachary reaches 250, 500, 750, 1250, 1500, etc., votes, I'll give away a print copy of "Shattered" to a commenter on this post. The more votes, the more copies!
2. When Zachary reaches 1000 votes and 2000 votes, I'll give away an annotated set of the SHADE trilogy (like a director's commentary) to a commenter on this post.
Deadline for both giveaways: when voting ends, 11:59pm eastern time, Friday, July 6. International entries welcome!
TO ENTER: Leave a comment telling me your favorite thing about Zachary BESIDES the accent!
(The first two items are copied and pasted from Monday's blog post.)
Since you all were so supportive of the SHADE boys during the nomination period, my Round 1 incentives will have something for Logan Lovers, Zachary Zealots, and Martin Maniacs.
And since I
If Zachary WINS ROUND ONE:
1. Martin will join Twitter for a #SHADEboys chat with Zachary and Logan; as well as a #FakeScotsmen chat with Zachary and with Cyndi Tefft's Aiden MacRae.
2. I'll write a scene from Logan's POV, and you get to choose! Voting on the scene begins now and ends 11:59pm ET Friday night.
(NOTE: I left the "Advanced anti-cheat" option off so as not to stop any legitimate voters who just happen to be in the same vicinity as another voter. But I do ask that you vote only once, even if you know how to do it more. I'd like to have a fair sample of reader preferences. Thanks!)
EDITED TO ADD: The first kiss scene from pre-SHADE days won! Here's a screenshot of the final poll as it stood at closing time. WOW, it was close!
3. NEWLY ANNOUNCED ZACH INCENTIVE!
Remember Aura and Zachary's video chats from SHINE? Well, there was one chat she didn't tell you about, a scene that made it into "Shattered" (which is entirely from Zachary's point-of-view). If Zachary wins Round One, I'll share that scene here on the website, in print and...
....in audio with accent.
My people are currently in negotiations with James McAvoy's people for him to play the role of Zachary and--HAHAHA!!! Just kidding, it'll be me reading it.
So come midnight, please vote for Zachary and spread the word like crazy. Meadow and I thank you.
