Final Day of the Superfan Contest, featuring Mr. Ralph and the quote that came to me in a dream

Each weekday between March 31 and April 10 (that's today!), I'm posting a new This Side of Salvation "trading card" on my blog and on my various social networks. The cards feature quotes by the different characters, as well as iconic images associated with them. By sharing this image on your blog and/or social networks, you could win some great prizes!

Today's card features David's homeschool math teacher, Mr. Ralph. (He doesn't have a last name.) While I was writing This Side of Salvation, I woke one night with this exact quote in my head. I scribbled it on my notepad in the dark, and in the morning, though I could barely read my own handwriting, I knew I'd found the novel's central truth.
